These terms cover Carbon Copy, operated by Junhyeok Park, an individual based in the United States. In these terms, “we” means that operator. Contact: playcarboncopy@gmail.com. The privacy notice explains information handling, including automatic authenticated cloud backups.
Using the game
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive license to install and use copies of Carbon Copy you legitimately obtain for personal gameplay, subject to these terms and the rights provided by your store and applicable law. This does not transfer ownership of the game's software, branding, or supplied artwork to you.
Do not redistribute or sell the game or its assets without permission, bypass access controls, cheat, or deliberately disrupt matches or the service. This does not restrict uses permitted by applicable law or by separate open-source or asset licenses. The third-party notices included with the game identify those separate licenses.
You may record, livestream, edit, and monetize videos of Carbon Copy gameplay, including the game's visuals and audio to the extent we can license them. Follow applicable third-party attribution and license requirements. This permission does not grant rights in other players' uploaded images or unrelated works; obtain any permission needed for those materials. It does not permit distributing the game or extracting its assets for separate resale.
Your images and drawings
You retain any rights you hold in your uploaded images, titles, and drawings. Only use content when you have the rights or other legal permission needed to upload, transform, store, and share it in the ways you choose. This also applies to private images: making a limited-palette version or keeping it private does not itself provide copyright or privacy permission.
To provide the features you use, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to process, crop, convert, reproduce, store, back up, and transmit that content. Permission to display or distribute it to other players is limited to your sharing choices and the gameplay that follows them. Our service providers may process it for those same purposes on our behalf. This permission does not authorize unrelated advertising or sale of your images.
If you contribute an image to a match or make it publicly eligible, you permit participants to receive the limited-palette reference, recreate it during gameplay, and retain references, drawings, attribution, and results in their History for those purposes. This does not grant a general license to use your original work outside the game.
Original images and crop sources are excluded from room contributions and Workshop packages. They can still be included in automatic authenticated cloud backups. Making a painting publicly eligible, contributing it to a room, and publishing through Steam are different actions; the game's privacy notice explains their audiences.
When content is removed from a feature, our permission ends except as needed to complete removal, maintain already shared gameplay/History copies for that purpose, address a legal obligation, or handle backups as described in the privacy notice. Removing your own copy cannot recall content already received by someone else.
Shared-content rules
Take responsibility for what you share. Do not upload or share content that infringes someone else's rights, contains sexual exploitation of children or non-consensual intimate material, unlawfully reveals another person's private information, or makes threats or targeted hateful or harassing attacks. Do not use public sharing to distribute pornography, malware, scams, or content prohibited by applicable law. A private room does not excuse unlawful content or abuse.
We may take manual action to remove content we control or restrict its sharing where reasonably necessary to address a violation, protect players, or comply with law. Where practical and lawful, we will explain the reason and allow you to contact us to request a review. These steps do not remove rights or remedies that applicable law gives you.
Questions and content complaints
Send complaints, including copyright or privacy concerns, to playcarboncopy@gmail.com. Identify the content and where it appeared, describe the problem, and provide a way to contact you. A room/time, painting title, screenshot, or Steam item link can help identify it. Do not resend illegal material or share passwords and authentication credentials.
We will review complaints about our service and take appropriate action for content and records we control. For a Steam Workshop publication or another Steam-controlled item, also use Steam's reporting tools.
Steam, purchases, and availability
Steam features and purchases are also governed by the Steam Subscriber Agreement and the relevant Steam rules. Refund requests for Steam purchases follow the Steam refund process, together with any additional rights required by law.
Online play depends on networks, other players, and third-party services, so interruptions can occur. Keep a separate copy of images that matter to you. Updates may change the game or its online features; we will provide any notice, remedies, or continued access required by applicable law.
Your legal rights and changes
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits mandatory consumer rights, warranties, refunds, or other protections that cannot lawfully be waived.
We will update the date when these terms change and provide notice or request agreement where required. Changes do not retroactively expand permission to use your uploads for unrelated purposes. Contact playcarboncopy@gmail.com if you have a question or want to raise a concern.
